The folk music festival-competition for children and youth " Eminescu Evenings " is a national cultural-artistic event, dedicated to the discovery, promotion and premiere of young talents in Romanian folk music. The event aims to keep the connection between poetry and music alive, offering a launching pad for children and young performers (individuals or in groups).
The National Folk Music Festival-Competition for Children and Youth " Eminescu Evenings" is a cultural-artistic event of national scope, whose main purpose is to discover, cultivate and promote young talents in the field of acoustic music and sung poetry. Held annually in the symbolic setting of the Ipotești Memorial - "Mihai Eminescu" National Studies Center in Botoșani County, the project brings together children and young performers from across the country, offering them a launching pad and the opportunity to perform on a professional stage.
From an organizational point of view, the event is structured as a rigorous competition, divided into individual and group sections, as well as age categories adapted to the children and youth segment. The competitors' performances are evaluated by a jury made up of established artists, songwriters and music industry professionals, the selection criteria being the quality of the vocal performance, the mastery of the instrumental accompaniment and the originality of the chosen repertoire.
Beyond the competitive component, the festival defines itself as a space for interdisciplinary cultural connection. Over several days, the event's agenda includes gala recitals by top personalities of Romanian folk music, practical creative workshops and workshops focused on literature, film or fine arts. By transforming the space from Ipotești into a nucleus of youthful creativity, "Eminescu Evenings" manages to keep the spiritual legacy of the poet Mihai Eminescu alive among the new generations of creators.
