Eminescu Days - National Culture Day
Eminescu Days – January Edition is an annual cultural event organized by the Ipotești Memorial – “Mihai Eminescu” National Center for Studies, around January 15, National Culture Day. The events include academic debates, conferences, art exhibitions, religious moments and recitals in Botoșani and Ipotești, as well as the National Culture Awards Gala, in which the National Award for Excellence in Culture is awarded; the National Award for Literature and the Promotion of Intercultural Dialogue; the National Award for the Promotion of Romanian Culture.
The January edition of "Eminescu Days - National Culture Day", organized by the Ipotești Memorial - "Mihai Eminescu" National Studies Center, with the support of the Botoșani County Council and in partnership with cultural and local institutions, it includes a wide series of cultural events, held in Botoșani and Ipotești: conferences and debates held by personalities, academics and writers, workshops and readings in high schools, meetings with writers, contemporary art exhibitions, performances, visits to artists' workshops, with guest poets, writers, literary critics, musicians, visual artists, journalists, cultural personalities, political decision-makers, engaging a large audience.
The focal point of these events is the National Culture Awards Gala, an elite festive event hosted in the large hall of the "Mihai Eminescu" Theater in Botoșani , during which the National Award for Excellence in Culture is awarded; the National Award for Literature and the Promotion of Intercultural Dialogue; the National Award for the Promotion of Romanian Culture. The award ceremony always includes high-profile recitals given by renowned artists, classical musicians or renowned actors (such as cello and piano concerts or theater performances).
